Planning on giving any gift cards this Christmas? This cute snowman crochet gift card holder is a great way to add a homemade touch to any gift card.

I frequently give gift cards as Christmas presents to teachers and family members who live far away. However, I don’t want to just stick them in a card. Since the gift card is a gift, I figure it deserves a better presentation than just an envelope. So I came up with this free snowman crochet pattern for a gift card pouch. You can make one up in no time at all. From start to finish it should take you less than an hour.

  • Worsted Weight Yarn in white and one other color of your choice (for scarf and hat – referred to in the pattern as Color B)

For the other chain, start on the opposite side of the cap and weave in and out. This chain should be on the opposite side of each post from your first chain. So if the first chain was behind a post on the first chain, the second chain should be in front of it. Line up ends and knot. This will form a drawstring that allows you to cinch the bag when you pull on both ends.
