Need favors for an upcoming party or shower? These easy to make Hershey Kisses Roses are just beautiful and would work well for birthdays, bridal showers, or even sweet 16 parties.
The first time I saw the Sizzix Spiral Flower Die, I knew I wanted to get it to make flowers for gift toppers and tags. You can literally make a single rose in less than a minute. You just die cut the shape, roll it up, and glue the end and base down. So easy and so cute!
When I came across a package of Valentines Hershey Kisses, I couldn’t help but wonder if I could somehow use them as centers for the flowers. So I played around a bit with it and made these beautiful candy kisses roses. They are just perfect for using on gift bags, favor tags, handmade cards, and so much more!

- Sizzix 3D Flowers Die
- Die Cut Machine
- Hot Glue Gun

Please note that I initially made this candy kisses roses tutorial with the Stampin Up Spiral Flower die. This die has since been retired, but Sizzix makes a 3D flower die that is similar (shown above). The Sizzix die should work using the same technique since the shape is similar. This die makes 2 sizes of flowers – use the larger one. For a fuller flower, you might want to use 2 diecuts together to make Hershey Kisses roses.
Instructions for flowers made from Hershey Kisses
Start by die cutting your spiral flower shape. You need 1/4 of a sheet of 8.5×11 inch cardstock for each Hershey Kiss rose that you plan to make.
To make it easier to assemble your flowers made from Hershey kisses later, I suggest rolling the spiral around a pencil, starting with the thinnest end (marked as the 1st petal on the photo). Take a pen and mark the 8th valley to show where you are going to glue the 1st petal to form a ring.
Form into a ring and glue into place. I used cool temp glue sticks in my hot glue gun. (I would recommend a different type of adhesive if your kids are helping make these.)
Now you are going to continue coiling the spiral around the ring to form the flower. You don’t want to wind this too tightly as it won’t leave enough room for the Hershey Kiss in the middle. However if it is too loose, it will leave gaps between the layers of petals. I recommend making a rose or two from scrap paper until you get the hang of how to roll them.
The last little petal is going to form the base of your flower. Make a crease between the last petal and the base to make it easier to get the base into place. Glue the last petal to the side of the flower. Push the base into the center of the ring.
You can use a drop of hot glue hold the Hershey Kiss in place. However, after making a lot of these, I recommend using glue dots to stick the candy in the center. It won’t melt that way.
Fold the petals outwards to give the flower a bit more dimension. And that’s all there is to it. Your flowers made from Hershey kisses are all ready to give to someone special.
For easy class valentines you can make candy kiss roses and glue them to a heart die cut. Just add a short handwritten note. In addition to Valentine’s Day, you can also make Hershey kiss rose favors for birthday parties, weddings, anniversaries, Mother’s Day, and other special occasions.
