Looking for a little something to make for your child’s teacher to let them know you appreciate all their hard work? These cute Cup of Cheer Gift Boxes will hold a couple of tea bags and are a great little gift to give teachers to let them know they are valued. They are made with the Curvy Keepsakes Die and use stamps from the July Paper Pumpkin Monthly Craft Subscription Kit. (If you didn’t get that kit, no problem! You can easily make these gift boxes with stamps you already have on hand.)
Start by cutting 2 Curvy Keepsakes Box pieces from patterned paper. You will want to place the die face down on the wrong side of the paper so that box will fold in the correct direction when you go to assemble it. I used the So Saffron polka dot paper from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack.
Tip: Use a needle to punch out any paper pieces that stick in your die. With my die, the slit cut out always remains behind in the die. A needle makes it easy to remove.
Add adhesive to the square area on one of the box pieces. Rotate the other piece 180 degrees and then line up the squares on and stick together. Your assembled piece should look like the picture above.
Tip: Tombow Xtreme is a great adhesive to use to assemble the boxes as it is a stronger adhesive. I have found it works well for assembling treat boxes because it holds together well.
Stamp the cup stamp onto Very Vanilla cardstock. Then line up the Cup of Cheer stamp and stamp it inside the cup image. Cut out the cup.
Using your cut out cup to help you get the placement right, stamp the steam and tea bag tag directory onto one of the rounded sides of your gift box. Use a Stampin Dimensional to stick down your cup.
Fold up the 2 rounded sides and line up the holes. Then bring up one of the pointed sides and insert the rounded tab through the slit. Add a tea bag or two before closing the other side of the box.
Stamp “For You” on a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock and use the Bitty Banners die set to cut out the image. Cut an additional banner from a scrap of Pumpkin Pie cardstock.
Add the banners to the gift box handle with a mini paperclip.
And there you have it, a quick and easy gift for your child’s teacher so they can enjoy a relaxing cup of tea at the end of the day.
